About Barden bearings
On June 1, 2019, The Barden Corporation (UK) Ltd was acquired by German precision bearing manufacturer HQW Precision GmbH. Barden became HQW Aerospace (UK) Ltd. in June 2023 partnering with HQW Precision GmbH in Germany.
Traditionally Barden specializes in the design and manufacture of high-quality bearings aimed at aerospace, vacuum pumps, medical systems, and space and satellite bearings. Barden bearings will also be found in many high-performance automotive as well as high-performance machine tool spindle applications.
Applications include the following:
- Aerospace and Defense
Barden bearings are specified in applications like pneumatic and electric starters, generators, gearboxes, main engines, and a variety of auxiliary aircraft applications. Barden aerospace bearings are designed for high speed, reliable operation, and are smooth and quiet running. Barden bearings are well suited for use in many applications in this sector due to their high quality.
- Vacuum Technology
Barden Bearings are used in Turbomolecular Pumps.
TMP high-performance vacuum pumps require bearings to operate in a very unforgiving environment. Barden Bearings are used extensively in semiconductor production, chemical analysis, and SEM, working in the 10-6 to 10-9mm Bar region.
- Medical Systems
Barden bearings are widely specified in applications ranging from high-speed dental handpiece turbines to surgical tools and medical robots. Modern medical and dental technology demands high performance from the bearings which makes Barden Bearing Company a perfect fit.
- Space and Satellite Applications
Attitude control & reaction wheels. A reaction wheel is a type of flywheel used in spacecraft and satellites for attitude control. Satellites normally employ three reaction wheels (for X-, Y- and Z-axes) for highly precise rotation.
Barden Bearing Products
Barden Bearings products include Deep Groove Radial Ball Bearings, Angular Contact Ball Bearings, Spindle Bearings, Hybrid Bearings, and Full Complement versions. Barden Angular Contact Bearings have a nominal contact angle from 10° to 25°.
Barden Angular Contact bearings can be ordered in pre-loaded duplex sets, back-to-back (DB), face-to-face (DF) for supporting thrust loads in both directions, or tandem (DT) for additional capacity. All bearings series can be customized as Hybrid or Full complement types based on customer requirements.
