MRC Bearings

MRC® Bearings is a brand of industrial bearings that was established in the United States in 1908. The company was originally named the “Marlin Rockwell Corporation” (MRC®) and was focused on manufacturing ball bearings for the automotive industry. Today, MRC Bearings is a part of the SKF Group, a global manufacturer of bearings and other industrial products.

About MRC Bearings

MRC Bearings

In the early 1900s’ Albert F Rockwell formed the Rockwell Drake Company. Albert Rockwell was one of the founders of the New Departure Ball Bearing Company. They were one of eight ball bearing manufacturers merging to form MRC. After World War I, the holding company was renamed Standard Steel and Bearing, a Division of Marlin Rockwell Corp. In 1924, Gurney Ball Bearing Company of New Jersey merged with the Marlin Rockwell Corp., as did Strom Ball Bearing Manufacturing Corp. out of Chicago. By 1930, these major ball bearing plants became the Marlin Rockwell Corp (MRC).

MRC Products

MRC bearings offer unique hard-to-find bearings that are not offered or are unavailable from other bearing companies. MRC offers a complete line of hybrid ceramic ball bearings. MRC hybrid deep-groove ball bearings provide a highly effective solution for new and installed electric motors and generators.

MRC hybrid bearings feature rings made from 52100  bearing steel and balls of bearing grade silicon nitride. The ceramic material component insulates the bearing against the passage of stray electrical currents while providing longer grease life and reducing lifecycle costs. Since turnaround time is critical in the electric motor and generator repair business, the complete range of MRC hybrid bearings (including XL-bore sizes and sealed or shielded configurations) are in stock for when you might need them. That’s the MRC  brand advantage.

MRC Bearings continues to operate under its brand name and is recognized as a leader in the development and manufacturing of high-quality, high-performance bearings for a variety of applications. MRC Bearings has a global presence, with manufacturing facilities, distribution centers, and sales offices located throughout the world and their products are sold in over 130 countries.
