Fractured Race Spherical Plain Bearings
Fractured race spherical plain bearings permit rotation with low friction and angular misalignment. Typically these bearing support a rotating shaft in the bore of the inner ring that may be misaligned in respect to the outer ring. Spherical plain bearings are made of hardened carbon chromium steel or hardened stainless steel. Outer and inner rings can be phosphate coated to increase corrosion resistance. Spherical plain bearings are also available with seals.
Commercial Series Spherical Plain Bearings
Commercial series spherical bearing raceways are made of low carbon steel with an oil coating. They are constructed with hard chrome plated 52100 steel balls and are rockwell Rc56 MIN hardness. This commercial series comes with lubrication grooves and holes in the ID or OD of raceways or available with PTFE liner. If PTFE liner is selected, no lubrication in holes or raceways is needed.
